Chairman District Council Kashmore inaugurates Solar Power System at Kandhkot Press Club

Chairman District Council Kashmore inaugurated a newly installed solar power system at Kandhkot Press Club (KPC) during a ceremony attended by senior district officials and local journalists marking a significant step towards promoting sustainable energy and supporting the journalist community.
The installation of the solar system marks a significant step towards improving the working environment for journalists by ensuring an uninterrupted power supply at the Press Club.
The initiative is expected to enable media professionals to continue their duties efficiently, particularly during prolonged electricity outages that frequently disrupt routine operations.
The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kashmore Agha Sher Zaman Pathan, Superintendent of Police Kashmore Mohammad Murad, Vice Chairman District Council Altaf Ahmed khoso, along with members of the District Council, government officials, journalists and representatives of civil society.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman District Council Kashmore Gul Mohammad Khan Jakharani said the installation of the complete solar system reflects the district administration’s commitment to strengthening public institutions and ensuring uninterrupted facilities for journalists.
He noted that access to reliable electricity is essential for the smooth functioning of the press club, enabling media professionals to perform their responsibilities efficiently, particularly during power outages.
The Chairman emphasized that journalists play a vital role in promoting transparency, highlighting public issues and strengthening democratic values. He assured to the media community that the District Council would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving their working environment and welfare.
In his remarks , DC praised the initiative and said it was an important move for long–term sustainable power.
He said the solar system would not only reduce electricity expenses but also ensure uninterrupted operations at the press club, allowing journalists to continue serving the public without disruption.
“Frequent power breakdowns had made it difficult to meet deadlines, operate laptops, maintain communication with news desks. With solar system, we can work 24 hours without interruption. This is long- awaited relief”, said Kandhkot Press Club President Dileep Kumar Thakur. General Secretary Ali Hassan Malik added , “it is a huge relief for all of us”.
The President and General Secretary further extended their sincere appreciation to the Chairman District Council Kashmore and District administration for their support in making the solar system installation possible.
They stated that the project would greatly improve the club’s operational capacity, particularly during prolonged electricity outages and create a more conducive working environment for media professionals.
The event concluded on a positive note, with journalists expressing optimism that the newly installed solar system would significantly improve the Press Club’s operations.
They noted that the solar system would help ensure uninterrupted journalistic activities, reduce the impact of power outages, and strengthen the overall functioning of the Press Club.
