Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the world community to come forward and help the Pakistan flood affected people, his Chinese counterpart second him and said that these devastating situations can be observed anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, Pakistan became the first country to be hit by such a natural disaster. The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, when visited Pakistan along with his team to stand along with the flood affectees in these devastating times, analyzed the damages and estimated 30 billion dollars will be required for reincarnation. Therefore, it can only be done by the assistance from international community, if they add their share in this humanitarian cause. A motion has been moved in the UN, that it’s not only in Pakistan but such a situation could prevails in a leading country of the world. So, a committee should be established to foresee any of such devastating situations in the world with the assistance of technical as well as climatic experts. Pakistan can utilize its all available resources, but we require a lot of assistance, to stand on our feet again.
Climate change is main focus of the discussions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari with world leadership. The country suffered badly from the flash floods in major parts of the century. It is the consequences of the global environmental changes which are essentially taking place by the pollution caused by the leading countries of the world. Pakistan has no input to the carbon emission in the world population, yet we became first victim of it.
The international communities have to focus on his issue. It is responsibility of world to stand with Pakistan for assistance. It is not only about Pakistan, any other country could be hit by such a disaster. Therefore, it is a global responsibility that has been pointed out by our Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto and has been very concerned for the rescue and relief operation. The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has been very helpful to Pakistan in these devastating times. Pak-US has very strong relations and cooperation among them. The US is showing it is in such need of the hour by sending as much humanitarian assistance and enhancing economic cooperation. Whereas, different regional, European and Middle Eastern countries have provided humanitarian assistance. The mutual cooperation between the US and China will be a great development for world peace and security as both are the biggest countries of the world.
We are hopeful to receive further relief assistance from the world. The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif successfully highlighted the devastating situation of floods in the country during his speech at the UN and interaction with various world leaders. The Prime Minister highlighted the gravity of situation due to climate change and suffering of Pakistan. It is essential to have such meetings and to find solutions for such issues. Social media can also help raise awareness about the climate impacts. We have to make consistent efforts to provide relief to the people. The areas of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan are heavily inundated and damaged. Various diseases have broken out in the affected areas, posing danger to the heaths and lives of people. We should not pin much hopes from international community. Rather, we should enhance our efforts to help the affected people.
