Charsadda Police bust mobile snatching, motorcycle theft gangs

In a series of successful operations, the Charsadda City Police on Tuesday exposed gangs involved in mobile phone snatching and motorcycle theft, arresting three accused and recovering lakhs of rupees, officials said.
The operations were conducted under the special instructions of District Police Chief Muhammad Waqas Khan and led by DSP City Jan Muhammad Khan and SHO City Johar Sheid Khan, with support from the Bazaar Reader and police teams, as part of intensified efforts against criminal elements during Ramazan.
Following a mobile snatching incident on Mardan Road, police acted swiftly to apprehend two suspects, Afaq, Sher Alam , residents of Rajar . The stolen mobile phone and motorcycle used in the incident were recovered.
During investigation, the accused confessed to multiple crimes, including snatching a mobile phone and Rs7,000 at gunpoint in Sheikhabad Rajar and another mobile theft in Papara Korona. Police also recovered Rs43,000 from the sale of stolen phones.
In a separate operation, the police arrested Ziaullah alias Bada , linked to a motorcycle theft gang. The stolen motorcycle was reportedly sold for Rs200,000.
