Chief secretary KP inspects Budhni Nullah after heavy rains

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, on Saturday paid a detailed visit to Budhni Nullah along Warsak Road and Charsadda Road to review the situation arising after recent rains. He was accompanied by Director General Rescue 1122 Tayyab Abdullah, Director General PDMA Asfandyar Khattak, and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the Chief Secretary that continuous monitoring of water flow in Budhni Nullah, other streams, and rivers was underway, while the district administration and rescue teams were on high alert to deal with any possible emergency. Residents living along the banks of the nullah had been advised to take precautionary measures, while relief teams had been deployed at nearby locations.
The Chief Secretary appreciated the performance of the concerned departments and directed that the public be kept informed from time to time. He further instructed that, along with field teams, strict monitoring should also be ensured through control rooms.
DG Rescue 1122 informed that rescue teams equipped with boats and other necessary gear were on high alert. He added that in case of any emergency, the public could immediately contact Rescue 1122 or the Peshawar District Control Room at 091-9211338.
