PESHAWAR: A clash between militants and police in Khyber district resulted in the tragic death of a young child on Tuesday. According to Khyber police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Maleward Police Station, where an exchange of fire took place between police and militants. During the crossfire, a passerby child was struck by bullets and died on the spot. The incident caused panic and fear among local residents. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area shortly after the clash. Police said a search operation was launched immediately following the incident to track down the militants involved. The body of the deceased child has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal procedure. APP
