Chinese investors have evinced interest to make large investment in North free zone: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD : Minister for planning Asad Umar has said North Free Zone is 35 time larger industrial zone than first zone of Gawadar and Chinese investors have expressed resolve to make large investment in this zone.

He said this while giving briefing with reference to South Balochistan package here Tuesday.

He held Chinese investors have told about making investment over one billion dollars.

He indicated that Prime Minister (PM) announced historical package for this area since November. PM reviewed the progress of Balochistan package during his visit to Gwadar.

He pointed out that 53 projects valuing over Rs 600 billion have been integrated in the development program of this year.

He stated that state of the art internet facilities are being provided to the youths. There are projects worth Rs 1200 billion for Balochistan in federal PSDP.

He claimed that development work has not been executed in Balochistan at the present scale ever before in the country. Development work is being carried out with the partnership of Balochistan government. The pace at which development work is being executed under the leadership of PM has never been done in the past, he added.
