The “Shuhada-e-Chitral Football Premier League,” a collaborative effort by the district administration and Frontier Corps North, celebrated its grand finale in a spectacular ceremony. Inspector General Frontier Corps North, Major General Noor Wali Khan, graced the event as the chief guest, bringing honor to the occasion. In a poignant gesture, the families of Chitral’s brave martyrs were invited to partake in the festivities, allowing the community to pay their heartfelt respects. Over a span of thrilling matches, 20 teams hailing from various districts of KPK competed passionately in the Shuhada-e-Chitral Football Premier League, commencing on October 10, 2023. The much-anticipated final match was a face-off between Peshawar FC and Guldur FC Chitral. In a fierce contest, Guldur FC emerged victorious, edging out Peshawar FC with a score of one goal to zero. The participants’ efforts were duly acknowledged and rewarded as Chief Guest IGFC North Major General Noor Wali Khan presented medals, trophies and cash prizes to the outstanding teams and players. Addressing the attendees, IGFC expressed, “This tournament’s primary aim is to pay homage to the martyrs of Chitral, individuals who laid down their lives to secure peace in the region. The entire nation holds these martyrs in high regard and pays its heartfelt tributes.” The Chitral Martyrs Football Premier League captivated a vast audience, particularly the local populace and youth.
