Cinemas, theaters to reopen today in Punjab

The Punjab government on Sunday allowed cinemas and theaters to reopen from Monday (today) with strict enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
A notification has been issued by Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Department in this regard. The primary & secondary health department has also issued SOPs under the instructions of the Punjab government.
In order to maintain social distancing, 6 feet distance has been made mandatory in the cinemas and theaters. No one will be allowed to enter the cinemas without wearing masks.
The visitors are advised to avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily. The owners have been asked to maintain sufficient stock of hand sanitizers at cinemas and theatre halls.
The hall occupancy will be limited to 40 percent of total capacity. The SOPs advised visitors to prefer open air theatre over indoor closed hall as well as online ticketing.
The owners of cinema and theaters are asked to offer shows of shorter duration (40-60 minutes) and ensure adequate ventilation of the halls The inter-show interval should be of at least 60 minutes in order to ensure proper cleanliness and disinfection. The temperature checking at entry points should be ensured, according to the SOPs.
Earlier, the Punjab government on Saturday issued a list of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for restaurants and fast-food outlets in the province.
In a notification, the Primary and Secondary Healthcare secretary said that social gathering will not be allowed in the eateries. There will be a complete ban on entry of people above the age of 60 in the restaurants.
