KHYBER: Representatives of local bodies (LBs) claimed on Monday that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) government failed to provide them development funds and allot them office space to serve the people. Protesting inside the tehsil compound, they slammed the Tehreeke Insaf(PTI)led provincial government and said that the slogan of change was meaningless as the KP government turned blind eyes towards their demands. The speakers including city mayor Haji Shah Khalid said offices, funds and other facilities had not been provided although one year passed, they had elected that was unfair to them. Local bodies government should be resorted as per the Constitution and development funds and power should be bestowed on the councilors at tehsil level so that they could work for the betterment of the masses, they remarked. They said that on November, 24, 2022 all representatives of LBs from across the province would initiate a demonstration in front of the provincial assembly and it would continue till acceptance of their demands. At the end they handed over a memorandum of their demands to the assistant commissioner, Landi Kotal Irshad Mohmand. Our Correspondent
