‘Clean and Green Peshawar’ 10-day drive to be launched today

Commissioner Peshawar division on Monday announced that a ten-day ‘Clean and Green Peshawar’ drive will be launched on March 14 (today).
While chairing an important meeting, Commissioner Muhammad Zubair said the provincial metropolis has been divided into five zones, adding that the drive will be conducted in 357 neighborhood and village councils of Peshawar.
Special teams comprising all the departments will start the campaign together in Peshawar city, suburbs and suburbs, he added.
The drive will be launched in collaboration with In Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMAs). The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has been tasked with cleaning the city from hanging wires.
The special campaign will be inaugurated by Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair, Mayor Peshawar City Haji Zubair Ali and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Shah Fahad at Shahi Bagh Peshawar today.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali, Deputy Commissioner Shah Fahd Chief Executive WSSP Dr Hasan Nasir, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Idrees, PDA, PESCO, Cantonment Board, Environment Department, Irrigation Department and other related institutions attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting Muhammad Zubair and Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali said that the ten-day campaign will be started on a trial basis and in case of success, efforts will be made to make the entire city clean by cleaning in the same way throughout the year.

DC Shah Fahad said that the preparations for the clean and green Peshawar campaign have been completed.
