PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan on Tuesday congratulated the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially of southern districts over approval of Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal project by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP). In a statement issued to the media, the Chief Minister said this project would prove a milestone in achieving agriculture and food security not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in the entire country. The project, he said, would irrigate around 0.3million barren land in the southern districts. With an increase in agriculture activities, the CM said, economical hustle and bustle would also get a boost that would provide numerous job opportunities to the people. The project was facing a delay for the last three decades; Mahmood Khan said and added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was continuously working on approval of this project for the last three years. With tireless efforts this project was at last approved by the CDWP. The Chief Minister said now after this important development, the Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal would be included in the Federal PSDP. APP
