PESHAWAR
Following the dissolution of Punjab Assembly and serious political crisis, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahood Khan on Tuesday signed the summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly.
According to the advice addressed to KP Governor Haji Gulam Ali , Mahmood Khan stated: “ I, Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in pursuance of provisions of Article 112 (1) of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, do hereby forward my advice for dissolution of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 17th January, 2023”.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry in the media talks had informed that KP-CM Mahmood Khan will sign the summary for the dissolution of the Provincial Assembly today (Tuesday).
A statement issued by the CM Secretariat has also confirmed that the summary has been signed and would be forwarded to the governor KP. It is pertinent to mention here that the decision to dissolve the assembly was taken during a meeting between the chief minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan at the latter’s Zaman Park residence, with senior party leaders in attendance.
Meanwhile, Fawad Chaudhry has urged the governor Haji Gulam Ali to sign the summary as per the law without any delay and hoped that all proceeding in the province would be finalised as per the law and no hindrance will be created.
