CM-KP orders special investigation team to probe into Haripur girl’s killing

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has taken notice of the alleged abduction, sexual assault and murder of a five-year-old girl in Haripur and ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a comprehensive probe into the incident.
The chief minister expressed deep sorrow over the incident and condemned it in strong terms, according to an official statement.
According to the chief minister’s office statement, police arrested three suspects during investigations into the girl’s disappearance and subsequently detained a fourth suspect on their identification. The girl’s body was also recovered following interrogation of the arrested suspects.
Mr Afridi directed the authorities to investigate the incident from every aspect in a transparent manner and ensure that those found responsible were dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
He expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the provincial government stood with them in their hour of grief.
The chief minister said crimes against children would not be tolerated and that those involved in the incident would be brought to justice.
