27 electric buses will be run on 21 kilometer route
LAHORE
Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz has launched first complete EV Bus service of Pakistan.
CM Punjab travelled in Electric Bus and conducted its detailed inspection.
Provincial transport minister Bilal Akbar gave detailed briefing about EV Bus to CM Punjab.
it was told in the briefing GPS location recorder, VIFI , UPS port and other facilities are available in the bus.
Electric bus will have 30 seats and capacity for 80 commuters. Ramp and seats for special persons will be allocated in E -buses.
CM Punjab was told anti slip sheet was used on floor for protection of commuters for the first time. 9 specific charging stations have been set up for complete electric bus. Bus will be able to travel 25o kilometer distance on one charging. Route display will also be seen to facilitate the commuters in bus. Separate female section will be carved out for women in the bus. Cameras will also be installed to prevent harassment related incidents.
27 electric buses will be run on 21 kilometer route. Electric bus will ply on the route from railway station to Green town. via Quins road, Mazang Feerozpura road. campus pull and Achra canal. 17000 commuters will tavel by first E-Bus service of Lahore.
EV Bus service from railway station to Green Town will be formally launched by mid of February. 42 state of the art bus shelters will be set up on railway station to Green town route. Bus will come after every 9 minute. Specific app will also be introduced for electric bus due to which bus tracking will be completed.
The fare of electric bus will be payable through digital vault and digital card. Universal transport cards will also be issued. Special training for 70 bus drivers has been started. CM Punjab ordered to install safe city camera on every bus stand.
