Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has fulfilled his promise to strengthen the operational capacity of the provincial police by approving the purchase of new vehicles for the force.
According to a statement issued here by the CM House, the Chief Minister signed the summary for the procurement of new operational vehicles, which include 4 Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), 39 single-cabin pickups, 34 double-cabin pickups, 2 Rios, 15 additional pickups, and 7 other vehicles.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that the new vehicles are being provided to enhance the operational efficiency of police stations across all districts of the province. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to modernizing the police force despite what he termed the uncooperative attitude of the federal government.
“Our police personnel are fighting on the front line against terrorism and crime, and it is our responsibility to provide them with all necessary facilities,” said the Chief Minister. “The provincial government stands firmly with its police force in the mission to establish lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
He further added that the supply of bulletproof vehicles worth Rs 1.89 billion was already underway, reflecting the government’s continued efforts to equip the police with modern and secure resources.
