Pakistan Council of World Religions Faith Friends held a detailed discussion on Kalash Marriage Act.
The meeting of the Social Cohesion Committee was chaired by Qari Ruhollah Madani which was attended Shazia from the Khwando Kor, Bashir Inayat, Gulzar Ali and Maqsood Ahmed.
The participants reviewed overall progress on the development of the provincial government Kalash Marriage Act.
Saima Mehboob while expressing her views, said relevant institutions and stackholders should excelled work on the act, adding that preparations must be finalized for presenting it on the floor of Assembly.
It was decided in the meeting that a series of meetings will be started next week so that the work can be accelerated to carry forward this work.
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to enact Kalash Marriage Act to provide a legal cover to the tradition of Kalash tribe and also promote mutual coexistence and interfaith harmony.
The provincial government has signed an MoU with Council of World Religion Chairman Qar Roohullah Madni.
According to Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Minorities Wazir Zada has earlier said that well-known Advocate Nabiag Kalash has been tasked with drafting the Act.
