A meeting regarding the implementation of Dengue Action Plan 2023 held here on Thursday with Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair in the chair.
The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all five districts of Peshawar Division, Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Tribal District Mohmand and District Khyber Deputy Commissioners, District Health Officers and administrative officers of other related institutions participated in the meeting
He was informed that the situation in 2023 is more satisfactory than 2022 due to the timely measures taken throughout the year and as compared to the total cases of 760 in last year only 20 cases have been registered Peshawar division and the travel history of all cases is available. 17 cases have been registered in Peshawar, 2 cases in Khyber and one case in Nowshera.
The Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair expressed his satisfaction with the measures taken to prevent dengue in all the five districts directed all deputy commissioners of the division to go out in the field to implement the Dengue Action Plan 2023 in the true sense and in this regard issued orders to make mutual communication with all the relevant departments more effective in addition to eradication of larvae and public awareness.
Directives for carrying out door-to-door visits by lady health workers in connection with the campaign were also issued.
He also issued directives for immediate initiation of measures under the strategy for September and October and obtaining of Larva Clearance Certificate from the heads of public offices. .
In order to achieve the better targets issued directives to Peshawar, Nowshera and Charsadda to get the services of 100 volunteers for each district from Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) and signing of an early agreement with the organization in this regard.
He also issued directives to Capital Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar to guarantee the cleanliness and ensuring fog spray in the police stations. Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair announced the direct supervision of all measures and called for a daily report regarding the implementation of the Dengue Action Plan 2023.
