Technical committee directed authorities to expedite survey for damaged houses in KP

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CS-KP) Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash has said that the provincial government designated teams were working tirelessly to collect data related to the damaged houses in the province, adding that timely compensation to flood-hit people was the top priority of the provincial government.
He expressed these views in the Technical Committee of the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund here on Thursday.
The committee directed concerned authorities to expedite the ongoing survey for damaged houses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The review meeting of the Technical Committee was held on Thursday in which Senator Dr Sania Nishtar, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash, relevant administrative secretaries and other officials participated via video link.
The forum was informed about progress on ongoing surveys of damaged houses during floods and recent rains in the province.
It added that field teams of the Claim Assessment Committee collect data through mobile applications.
After approval from the District Disaster Management Unit (DDMU) headed by deputy commissioner, Provincial Disaster Management Authority forwards national identity cards to NADRA for verification.
After which Bank of Khyber will open accounts for affected people and the amount will transparently be paid to them through biometric verification.
Senator Dr Sania Nishtar termed scrutiny of collected data at different levels as encouraging to maintain transparency.
She, however, stressed on expediting the survey by removing discrepancies during data collection in the field.
Negligence to this effect will not be tolerated, he warned. The Chief Secretary directed DG PDMA to issue an advisory to deputy commissioners for improved data collection so that assessment can be timely completed.
