ISLAMABAD: A total of 3,892 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country over the last twenty four hours, taking the total tally to 188,926, said National Command and Operation Centre on Wednesday. The death toll from the virus stands at 3,755 with 60 deaths reported over the last twenty four hours. A total of 23,380 corona tests were carried out during this period. The reported 188,926 cases include 69,536 in Punjab, 72,656 in Sindh, 23,388 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,634 in Balochistan, 11,483 in Islamabad, 1,337 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 892 in Azad Kashmir. So far 77,754 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
The total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan are 107,417. A total of 1,150,141 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. The NCOC said that 6,256 patients are admitted in 769 hospitals with COVID-19 facilities across the country.
The NCOC said that there is no patient on ventilator in AJK and GB. Around 549 ventilators are occupied across Pakistan out of 1,539 ventilators allocated for COVID-19 patients.
The NCOC said that 1,895 additional ventilators for COVID-19 are in pipeline and will be added to critical healthcare capacity by end July.
The NCOC said that 200 oxygen cylinders have been dispatched to GB for any emergency.
The NCOC said that newly built 250-bed Islamabad Infectious Disease Hospital constructed in record time of just over 35 days will be functional soon to cater for contingency plans and take off pressure of patients inflow from ICT hospitals. TLTP
