ISLAMABAD
District and Sessions Court Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of Toshakhana case against PTI chairman Imran Khan till April 11. The petition seeking early hearing of Toshakhana petition filed by Election Commission (EC) came up for hearing before the court.
The PTI Junior counsel told the court the notice has neither been given to Imran Khan nor any senior counsel.
Police have not filed the report of serving notice so far. It is pertinent to mention that District and Sessions court Islamabad had directed Imran Khan to appear in person in Toshakhana case.
On the request of 5 MNAs from ruling party, Speaker National Assembly had sent Toshakhana reference to EC seeking disqualification of Imran Khan.
It was alleged in the reference Imran Khan has not declared in assets the income accrued to him due to sale of the gifts he had obtained from Toshakhana.
It has been demanded in the reference filed under article 63 of the constitution that Imran Khan be deseated under article 62-1-F.
Barrister Ali Zafar had taken the plea during the hearing of the case only judiciary is authorized to disqualify under article 62-1-F.
A per Supreme Court Election commission is not a court.
