Islamabad: The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has appealed the government and private sector to speed up import of the covid-19 vaccine. While covid-19 continues to affect a large segment of population in Pakistan, efforts to counter it with effective vaccination campaign are far from being satisfactory, the medical association stated in a statement issued on Friday. This follows a dismal response to following SOPs causing large scale illnesses and deaths, it states. The government and society both should realize the dangers of the covid-19 pandemic and opt for vaccination before the existing wave goes out of control. The PIMA office- bearer expressed these reservations at a press conference in Islamabad on Friday. Talking to media persons, PIMA Punjab President Dr Shabbir Ahmad Kallu and others also urged the society to take the problem seriously. Online
