ISLAMABAD
Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has sought extra ordinary enhancement in power tariff by Rs 7.96 per unit .
CPPA has filed petition with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) in this regard which has been set for hearing on June 27.
CPPA has requested to scale up tariff under the head of monthly fuel price adjustment.
It was told in the petition that 8.80 percent electricity was generated from furnace oil in the month of May. The power generated from furnace oil cost Rs 33.67 per unit.
As per petition 10 percent electricity was produced from local gas, 22.89 percent from imported LNG, and 24.50 percent electricity was generated from water,
Reference cost for the month was fixed Rs 5.93 per unit.
