Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has said that there was peace when there was only one state TV channel in the country and now the crime stories are exaggeratedly presented in media today.
“at present the crime stories are given more coverage in media. The day is not far off when the problems and crimes will stand eliminated from the country and peace will prevail here”, he said this while addressing ASPs passing out parade ceremony here in National Police Academy Thursday.
He went on to say the criminals have gone far ahead. Police officers are going to step in new life. The best training was imparted to police officers to discharge their obligations.
He held the responsibilities of police have increased at present Police personnel are discharging their duties with courage and responsibility. Unfortunately the positive impression is not taken In respect of police department.
Our neighbors don’t spare any chance of sabotage, he said. There was a time when I was information minister. Then there was only one state TV channel. We faced no other problem. But today crime stories are given more coverage in media. The stories of criminals are being run in the media. Now criminals too have gone far ahead. Therefore the police responsibilities have increased in the prevailing situation.
When the society gives the due status to police then the day is not far off when the crimes and problems will stand eliminated from the country and the peace will prevail, he observed.
