CS-KP directs DCs to expedite action against encroachment mafia

Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash expressed his satisfaction over district administrations performance

An important meeting held here on Monday with the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CS-KP) Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash in the chair, reviewed district administrations performance.
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Shahb Ali Shah, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and director PMRU and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The forum was informed that 17 districts in the province had been declared flood prone while Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Swat were declared the most affected.
In the recent floods, more than 400000 people affected by the recent flash floods were shifted to safe places while 70000 people were rescued in different operations. It added that 153000 non-food items have been distributed, prepared food to more than 866000 people and dry ration was provided to 286000 people.
The meeting was briefed about the provincial government 196 campsites for the flood victims with a capacity of over two lakh people.
Director PMRU said that due to the timely and best measures taken by all the district administrations like evacuation of citizens to safe places before the flood, cleaning of waterways, early warning system and overall flood management, compared to the 2010 flood. I have had fewer losses.
He said that during the recent flash floods the government has completed the compensation process for more than 4647800 houses while 14180 are completely destroyed while 32298 are partially damaged.
Rs2 billion have been distributed among more than 9000 victims. Director PMRU, explaining about the action against encroachment, said that from November 2021 to October 2022, 13106 kanals of government land were recovered from grabbers which include 34 percent agricultural land, 22 percent commercial, nine percent forest and 24 percent miscellaneous land.
Similarly, during the last four months, 1914 kanals of land worth billions of rupees have been retrieved.
Director PMRU said that out of 456 open kitchens, 9 were organized for women, one minority community, 5 farmers and 4 special persons during the last four months.
Out of 2142 complaints received in the Khuli-Kacheries, 1 855 have been resolved effectively by the concerned district administrations of the province.
Regarding administrative and regulatory inspections, Director PMRU said that in the last four months, 7161 schools, 8 349 health Centres, 5609 ADP schemes and 7 279 patwar houses were inspected by the concerned officials in the province.
Similarly, in regulatory inspections, 335,000 centers were also inspected and a total of RS 65 million fines were imposed for mismanagement and other violations.
CS-KP Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the district administrations during the last four months.
He directed the officials quarter concerned to expedite their rehabilitation operations in the areas where floods have wreaked havoc .
He directed that the Deputy Commissioners should continue the action against the encroachments and ensure better utilization of the allotted land.
Similarly, pay special attention to fixing the prices to provide essential commodities to the citizens as per the official price list.
