CS KP says flood-hit families’ rehabilitation top priority of govt

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash said on Friday that flood has forced a large number of families to live in relief camps and the government was taking all possible steps for their rehabilitation and safe return to their homes.
He urged the people and government officials to come forward and take part in relief related activities to mitigate the miseries of the affected population.
He was addressing a flood donation camp established by the government employees under the supervision of Civil Secretariat Coordination Council at civil secretariat Peshawar.
Relief items for flood-affected people, donated by government servants at the camp, were dispatched to different districts of KP under the supervision of Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash.
The relief items were one month’s ration, clothes and other daily necessities for 200 families.
On this occasion, Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash while addressing the members said that various areas in KP have been affected due to floods, adding that the government was taking all possible steps to rehabilitate and support affected families.
The key priority of the provincial government at this time is to focus on flood hit people and provide with them possible facilitation such as food and proper shelter, he added.
Dr Shahzad Bangash appreciated the employees of civil secretariat Peshawar for setting up a relief camp to help flood-hit population and collect donations for their rehabilitation.
He thanked all the government and semi-government, private institutions, NGOs, social workers, medical people who devoted their time to serve the flood-affected people.
“Whenever this province or the country is affected by any calamity, all government entities, employees and public have shown unity to mitigate the problems of people and carried out rehabilitation services for humanity,” he added.
Dr Shehzad Bangash paid glowing tribute to the spirit and services of the entire nation for taking active part in relief related activities for flood hit people.
