Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Qamar Hayat Khan, conducted an inspection of routes of mourning processions on GT Road on Monday.
He was accompanied by DSP Headquarters Zahoor Khan and other traffic officials.
CTO Peshawar reviewed the traffic plan and interacted with traffic wardens deployed for traffic management during Muharram.
He said that the traffic plan devised for the Muharram should be implemented effectively so that the citizens do not face any kind of difficulties.
In order to maintain the flow of traffic in the city, heavy personnel have been deployed on alternative routes for better management of traffic, he added.
Qamar Hayat Khan directed quarter concerned actions should be continued against those guilty of double-riding and those using black glasses during the month of Muharram.
He said that for the convenience of citizens during Muharram, information will be given on all social media sites and on MF Radio 88.6 about alternative routes.
