Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Wednesday inflation will be sky rocketing if government opts to put burden on masses.
“People of Pakistan have coped with worst inflation during previous government’s tenure,” Dar said while talking to reporters in London, adding that incumbent coalition government will decide to minimize the inflation through a mutual strategy.
Dar said previous PTI-led government had gained power through ‘unconstitutional means’ but it was ousted through legal and constitutional procedure, and hence it was unacceptable to the PTI leadership.
About next general elections, former finance minister said the decision will be made by consultations with coalition partners. “The Chief Election Commissioner has already clarified that next general elections are impossible before October 2022,” he added.
