BAHAWALPUR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa has said that fertilizer sale should be ensured at a fixed rate and the supply of fertilizer in the markets should also be improved. He was presiding over a meeting at his office here on Monday. He said that legal action would be taken against those dealers who sell fertilizer at more than the fixed rate and agencies of such dealers would also be sealed. Deputy Director of Agriculture (Extension) Hafiz Muhammad Shafiq, Assistant Director of Agriculture Extension of the district, and representatives of the dealers association were present in the meeting. Deputy Director of Agriculture (Extension) Hafiz Muhammad Shafiq briefed about wheat cultivation and fertilizer demand. The Deputy Commissioner said that the dealership of those dealers who sell fertilizer at more than the fixed rate should be cancelled. He said that the supply of fertilizer should be improved in the district and the fertilizer should be sold to the farmers at fixed rates. He said that the relevant officers of the Department of Agriculture (Extension) should effectively monitor the sale of fertilizers at fixed rates. DNA
