DC inaugurated first ever “Book Fair” at GHS Wana

For the first time in the history of the South Waziristan Tribal District, a “Book Fair” was organized in Wana on the personal interest of Deputy Commissioner Amjad Meraj.
On the occasion, DC South Waziristan along with Additional Assistant Commissioner Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali and DEO South Waziristan Amir Mohammad inaugurated the “Book Fair” at Government High School Wana organized by National Book Foundation.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of locals besides students and teachers.
In addition, the Directorate of Youth Affairs also managed a mobile library.
Deputy Commissioner Amjad Meraj visited the book stalls and interacted with the students and people.
DC South Waziristan highlighted the importance of books and education and the locals appreciated the efforts of the district administration in organizing the event and termed the program as commendable.
Later, DC bought books for himself and talked to the school principal Ghulam Hussain Wazir and instructed him to promote educational activities.
DC Amjad Meraj said Inshallah, a series of “book fairs” will be organized through out the district, So that people can benefit from it.
Finally, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the National Book Foundation and the Directorate of Youth Affairs on the successful function of the “Book Fair”
