DC, Khyber reviews anti-dengue initiatives in Landi Kotal

KHYBER: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Khyber Arshad Mansoor inspected initiatives taken to curb dengue fever on his visit to Landi Kotal last day. Flanked by District Health Officer Dr Qasim Abbas, Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Akbar Iftekhar, Medcial Superintendent Headquarter hospital, Landi Kotal Dr Niaz Afridi and anti-dengue campaign focal person Dr Saleem Khalid, DC Arshad Mansoor visited most affected areas and examined prevailed situation pertaining dengue. He reviewed precautionary measures including surveillance, conducting of anti-dengue spray and awareness sessions adopted by the health and other concerned departments.
Speaking on the occasion DC, Khyber said that all available resources are utilized to curtain spread of dengue virus.
Visiting teams of every localities will conduct surveillance, carrying out fog spray and they will sensitize tribal elders, traders, religious scholars to persuade them to follow precautionary measures, the administrative high officer said.
The effected persons appraised him of problems being faced by them while treating the disease.
He urged the officials to speed up their efforts and submit their reports on a daily basis to control the dengue fever in the area.
DC, Arshad Mansoor distributed safety kits, anti-mosquitos nets and spray among the affected people.
