Development Projects in Bajaur District

After restoration of peace in the seven agencies of the former FATA, the government of Pakistan merged these agencies into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the status of districts under the 25th Amendment of the Constitution. After the amalgamation, extensive development work started in these districts. Government of Pakistan also started providing annual funds so that the development work in these districts could continue.
The government of Pakistan as well as security forces including Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps North & South are also playing a significant role in the development of these districts. In this regard, the security forces have not only completed a large number of other important projects in Bajaur District in a very short period of time including schools, small hospitals, dispensaries, health centers, clean water supply, infrastructure and communication but also work is in progress on many other projects.
A total of 44 schools are completed including newly constructed schools and reconstruction of existing schools in remote areas of Bajaur district including Charming, Kalpani, Muslim Bagh, Salarzai, Taba, Dherakai amd other areas.These include boys ‘and girls’ primary and middle schools. Similarly, the security forces are taking special measures regarding health and new community health centers have been built including the existing small hospitals and dispensaries are being rebuilt.
So far 11 community health centers, small hospitals and basic health units have been set up in Gaddafi, Khar, Mandal, Kaga, Mena and other areas of Bajaur district from which the people of Bajaur district are benefiting. Security forces launched extensive water supply schemes to ensure clean water supply to the local people of Bajaur. So far 68 clean water supply projects have been completed in remote areas of Bajaur district.
And the security forces have also installed solar systems to ensure the continuity of clean water supply. Security forces have completed the construction of large and small roads in Bajaur district to make the communication system more efficient. Also work is in full swing in many areas in this regard, so that business activities can continue in the area.
Work is also underway on other projects including mosques, bus stands, markets in Bajaur district through other important community based projects. With the efforts of the security forces, Bajaur district is moving towards new heights of development. The time is not far when this district will also play an important role in the development of Pakistan.
