Losses of lives, infrastructures to be compensated soon: CM Mahmood Khan
PESHAWAR
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has declared Dera Ismail Khan and Chitral as calamity-hit districts in view of casualties and losses to business, houses and other infrastructures by recent torrential rains and devastated floods in the province.
An official statement stated that Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan has directed concerned authorities to expedite relief and rescue operations in the calamity hit areas.
He directed the district administrations to take necessary steps on an emergency basis to provide food, drinking water and sother essential items to people in the flood affected areas.
Mahmood Khan has also directed the concerned district administrations and relief organizations to reach out to every single person affected by floods.
CM-KP Mahmood Khan would personally pay visits to calamity hit districts of the province and expected to announce a major relief package for the areas, the statement read.
He has pledged that loss of lives and properties would be compensated and sought a report of damages from the district administrations.
The Chief Minister directed to restore the damaged infrastructure in the flood affected areas at the earliest. He said that all available resources will be utilized to help and rehabilitate the victims.
