Spokesperson National Data Base and Registration Authority (NADRA) has said digital identity card is fully equivalent to physical identity card.
As per statement some government departments are demanding physical card or photocopy instead of digital . This attitude runs contrary to existing legal and institutionalized framework. Digital identification rules were evolved under NADRA ordinance. According to the spokesperson the requirement of unnecessary photocopies of identity card is less.
All government departments, public and financial institutions, and telecom operators should ensure compliance of these orders. The citizens can register their complaints through NADRA official complaint system.
