Honorary Consul of Czech Republic and Dean of Honorary Consuls Corps for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Assad Saifullah Khan here Thursday hosted a diplomatic gathering in honor of Thomas Eckert, Consul General at U.S. Consulate.
Kathleen Gibilisco, Political Officer; Kapil Gupta, Chief of Political Section, Shahid Islam, Economic Specialist ,Mohammad Amir, Economic Specialist also attended the gathering.
The diplomatic gathering was held at Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic situated on Michni Lane Peshawar.
Senior members of diplomatic community including Ammad Rasheed, Honorary Consul General of Republic of Tunisia, Muhammad Arsallah Khan, Honorary Consul General of Russia, Masood Ahmad Qazi, Honorary Consul General of Romania, Nawabzada Fazal Karim Afridi, Honorary Consul General of Japan, Salim Saifullah Khan, Honorary Consul General of Türkiye, Asad Ansari, Honorary Consul General of Finland, Sikandar Kuli Khan Khattak and Malik Riaz Awan were also present.
The gathering was held to strengthen diplomatic coordination, foster trust-based interaction and promote an conducive environment for international cooperation and foreign investment in KP. The gathering reflected growing international confidence in the province’s stability, institutional progress and economic potential.
The event reaffirmed the enduring relationship between KP and United States while underscoring the importance of continued engagement with European countries and other international partners.
Addressing the gathering, Barrister Assad Saifullah Khan emphasized the importance of Honorary Consuls as effective liaisons between the provincial leadership and key diplomatic missions, particularly the United States, the European Union and other strategic partners to better align international engagement with provincial development priorities.
The gathering highlighted KP ongoing transformation, improved security, governance reforms and expanding opportunities in energy, infrastructure, minerals, tourism, healthcare, agriculture and manufacturing sectors.
Thomas Eckert and senior members of Honorary Consuls Corps reaffirmed the diplomatic community’s shared commitment to dialogue, regional stability and mutually beneficial cooperation in KP.
