DIR LOWER: District administration Dir Lower is taking solid measures to facilitate residents during the holy month of Ramazan by ensuring edible items at affordable prices. As part of such efforts, Assistant Director Consumer Protection Ibrahim Mohmand on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Capt(retd) Aun Haider Gondal on Thursday paid a visit to various markets including Sasta Bazaar and checked the quality and prices of several edible items. During the visit, he directed shopkeepers to display price lists at prominent places and sell edible items at prescribed rates. APP
He said that strict action would be taken against those shopkeepers who took law into their own hands by overcharging or hoarding commodities.
Engr Imran posted Chief Engineer North Local Council Board
PESHAWAR: Engineer Imran Hilal (BPS 18), Senior Town Officer in Local Government Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been transferred from Town-4 Peshawar and posted as Chief Engineer, North, Local Council Board KP with immediate effect. He has subsequently assumed the charge of his office and started his duties at LCB headquarters Hayatabad Peshawar. Besides serving as Tehsil Officer Infrastructure in various TMAs of the province, Engineer Imran has performed as Superintendent Engineer, Local Government Department Malakand and Hazara Divisions as well as Project Director in Mines & Minerals Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prices reduced due to change of govt
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: With the change of government in the country, after the significant reduction in the price of gold, the trend of reduction in the prices of poultry meat, food items and groceries in Dera has been observed by the people. According to detail, with the change of government in the country, the price of gold has gone down by Rs 900 per tola. Rs 50 per kg for lemons, Rs 5 per kg for potatoes, Rs 40 per kg for dates, Rs 20 per kg for green chilies and Rs. 20 per kg for essential commodities and vegetables in the market. The prices of fruits are also declining as observed during a visit. In this situation, people are calling it a special mercy of Allah Almighty for Ramadan. APP
DC for strict action against land grabbers
DI KHAN: Deputy Commissioner Inayatullah Wasim directed district administration and all Assistant Commissioners to take strict action against encroachment on government lands and land grabbers. Presiding over a meeting here, he directed timely redressal of public complaints and improving performance of the public departments as part of measures to ensure good governance. He said that providing all possible relief to the people should be top priority of the district administration adding that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated. APP
