LAHORE
Upon completion of 75 years of diplomatic ties, Pakistan and Turkiye have started direct flights between the two countries.
Federal Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique said Tuesday Pakistan and Turkiye enjoyed deepened historical and joint hereditary links. He was addressing a simple ceremony arranged at the Lahore Airport to inaugurate the direct flight operation between the two countries.
“PIA’s Istanbul operation has been initiated as to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pak-Turk ties,” he said.
Saad said the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was working days and nights to improve its standards.
Weekly two flights will take off from Lahore to Istanbul, while four planes will fly from Islamabad International Airport. This will ultimately provide commuters with access to 28 cities of European as well as American territories.
