District police officer Charsadda (DPO) Rifatullah Khan on Saturday made a surprise visit to the police facilitation center, where he conducted a detailed review of complaints lodged by citizens at the complaint cell and police action taken in response to them.
He personally telephoned several citizens to obtain direct feedback regarding the action taken by the police on their complaints, resolution of their issues, and the conduct of police personnel.
He also met with complainants visiting the center, listened to their concerns, and directed the relevant officers to resolve citizens’ complaints on the spot and strictly on merit.
He made it clear that the primary purpose of the center is to provide citizens with prompt relief and easy access to police services. No citizen will be forced to make unnecessary visits to different offices to have a legitimate complaint resolved.
The timely action and effective redressal of citizens’ complaints are among the foremost responsibilities of the police. Negligence, delay, or failure to provide relief to citizens will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
During the inspection, orders were issued to close the center’s muharrir to line due to negligence in the performance of duties and failure to demonstrate the required level of performance.
He directed officers and personnel that respecting every complainant, treating every complaint as important, and ensuring the timely resolution of every legitimate issue are the responsibility of the police.
Departmental action will be taken without discrimination against anyone found negligent in dealing with public complaints.
