DPO directs strict measures against criminal elements in Bannu

District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Muhammad Iqbal has said that the maintenance of peace was the prime responsibility of police and every step would be taken to improve law and order situation in the district.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to review law and order situation in the district, said a handout issued here on Thursday.
DPO Bannu instructed the quarters concerned to speed up operations against criminal elements.
Circle-in-charge officers should ensure search and strike operations on a daily basis against criminals, proclaimed offenders, and drug pushers in the districts, he added.
Dr Muhammad Iqbal instructed police officers to keep vigilant and devise a comprehensive strategy against those involved in drugs and other heinous crimes.
Police should also increase patrolling and tighten their checking on different check-posts of the districts, he added and said that all exit and entrance routes to the district should be closely monitored, he added.
He further directed the investigating officers to conduct modern investigations against the elements involved in serious crimes, arrest criminals and increase liaison with the prosecution.
