PESHAWAR: Professor Dr Farkhunda Hayat has assumed the charge of Director of Pashto Academy at the University of Peshawar (UoP). The UoP formally entrusted Prof Dr Farkhunda Hayat with the responsibilities of Director Pashto Academy. Farkhunda Hayat was born on September 1, 1973 in Tarangzai Meera, Charsadda district and did her primary education from Girls High School, Matriculation from Government Girls High School, Charsadda in 1986, FA and BA from Government Frontier College, Peshawar in 1990. In 1993, she received M.A Pashto degree from the Department of Pashto University, MPhil and PhD in Pashto Literature from the same institution in 2010. Dr Farkhunda Hayat started her career as a lecturer in the Pashto Department of the UoP in 2003. She has authored five books on Pashto literature and published a number of research articles in national and international journals. Farkhunda Hayat is the chief editor of Pashto magazine and is also a member of the Pashto department at AWKUM, Bacha Khan and Islamia College Peshawar. DLP Report
