Drug smuggling attempt foiled near Kallar Kahar On M-2

Islamabad: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs on Motorway M-2 near Kallar Kahar. As per details, NHMP officers, during routine patrolling, signalled two suspicious vehicles to stop near Kallar Kahar. However, the suspects travelling in the vehicles abandoned them and fled the scene. The search for the suspects is underway. During the search of both suspicious vehicles, NHMP officers recovered a total of 243 kilograms of drugs, including 155 kilograms of opium and 88 kilograms of hashish. According to preliminary information, the drugs were being transported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. The NHMP handed over the recovered drugs and both vehicles to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal proceedings. Staff Reporter
