Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Chairman, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Standing Committee on Railways/Dryport, former senior vice president, Pak-Afghan Joint Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI) vice president held a meeting with newly appointed Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) Peshawar M Nasir Khalili and assured him to cooperate and support at every level.
According to a statement issued here on Friday, he congratulated Nasir Khalili to appointment as DS Railways Peshawar second time.
The DS Railways Peshawar, Nasir Khalili on the occasion assured that the Pakistan Railways would take all possible mesures to facilitate trade and businesses.
On the occasion he also assured he will personally visit the Aza Khel Dryport and would take practical steps to resolve all issues at the dryport.
During the meeting, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi said the Azakhel dryport was inaugurated by former prime minister Imran Khan but the newly established dryport is yet not fully functional despite the passage of two years.
He demanded the restoration of the cargo train from Peshawar to Karachi in order to facilitate traders for imports and exports.
Similarly, he said that Afghan transit trade goods (GITA) via goods transit train railways would supply raw materials and recondition vehicles to industrial estates from Karachi.
He mentioned for the last 22 years, the export cargo train had suspended from Peshawar Cantt Dryport, despite the fact that KP has god-gifted treasures of natural resources like mine, mineral, oil, gas, gemstones, furniture, handicraft, carpet, honey and other, besides match largest industry is in KP.
Sarhadi said if the export would be boosted from this region then the country would earn hefty revenue as well as provide employment opportunities to a large number of people.
Likewise, he said Pakistan Railways would also fetch massive revenue on head of freights.
Later, the DS Railways Peshawar, Nasir Khalili assured that the Pakistan Railways would take all possible measures to facilitate trade and business.
On the occasion he also assured he will personally visit the Aza Khel Dryport and would take practical steps to resolve all issues at the dryport.
At the end, the SCCI former vice president thanked DS Peshawar and invited him to visit Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Peshawar.
