PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Science and Information Technology Atif Khan on Tuesday termed ‘e-governance project’ an important initiative for ensuring speedy accountability and good governance in the province.
Atif Khan while presiding over the fifth meeting of Steering Committee held to review the overall progress of e-governance project said KP has been put on the right direction with the help of new technological initiatives.
Secretary of the Department of Science and Information Technology Muhammad Khalid, the Managing Director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board and other officials including the officers of the relevant departments participated in the meeting.
On this occasion, Atif Khan directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work on the project and complete it within the stipulated period.
He said that the government was moving towards a digital KP and steps were being taken to this end, adding that the idea of digital governance was the need of the hour.
Innovation and use of technology will ensure transparency in official affairs and citizen will be able to have access to government services on their doorstep, he added.
“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has taken revolutionary steps in every sector of the province and no stone would be left unturned to facilitate its citizens,” he added.
Atf Khan said that technological intervention in government departments would eliminate ways for corruption.
