Election Commission (EC) while nullifying intra party election of PTI has ordered to hold election within 20 days.
According to EC intra party election of PTI were not transparent. Election be conducted within prescribed time.
The EC while announcing September 13 reserved judgment on PTI intra party election nullified the intra party election besides ordering for holding election again within 20 days.
It has been said in the EC’s order that EC has conducted five hearings on the matter of PTI intra party election. It has been decided after it that election symbol of bat will remain with PTI and if intra party elections are not conducted within 20 days then election symbol will be withdrawn.
According to EC decision PTI has failed to conduct transparent election. Despite it we are not giving extreme decision. PTI should hold election within 20 days and file report in EC within 7 days of holding election.
PTI after making change in its constitution on June 8, 2022 held intra party election on June 10, 2022. It filed list of elected members in EC.
PTI chief election commissioner Jamal Ansari told EC they have made change in constitution. He filed party constitution in EC. Later PTI counsel Barrister Gauhar told the commission they have withdrawn changes which were made in party constitution. He filed certificate.
