ISLAMABAD
The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved a series of Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) and policy measures covering development, security, infrastructure, telecommunications and public sector operations.
The ECC approved Rs7.026 billion for the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme (SAP) to ensure continuity of development projects and timely completion of objectives.
The Committee also approved Rs10.15 billion for the Pakistan Navy’s Hangor Project under the Rafale Aircraft and Force Development Package (RAFDP)-2030.
Several allocations sought by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control were approved, including funds for Islamabad Peace Talks security arrangements, compensation for victims of the Taralai Imam Bargah suicide blast, operational requirements of the Pakistan Land Ports Authority, procurement of Fast Patrol Boats for Pakistan Coast Guards, expansion of the Safe City Islamabad project, NACTA operations and security-related charges for the Reko Diq Project.
The ECC approved Rs733 million for Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) to meet salary requirements for June 2026 and sanctioned Rs183.5 million for installation of telecom sites and telephone towers in District Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan through the Special Communication Organization (SCO).
The Committee further approved development funding for urban infrastructure projects in Karachi and Hyderabad, as well as allocations for development initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs4.377 billion was approved for the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan to support current expenditures and priority initiatives, while Rs1.3 billion was sanctioned for modernization and up-gradation of Pakistan Mint under Phase-II-A of the project.
The ECC also approved the Budget Estimates of IPO-Pakistan for FY2025-26 and endorsed measures relating to operational continuity of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL), continuation of Pakistan State Oil’s syndicated running finance facilities and a revised framework for settlement with Cnergyico PK Limited under the Pakistan Oil Refining Policy 2023.
In addition, the Committee approved funds for residential accommodation of entitled government officials and Rs30 million for extension and up-gradation of the Jamia Masjid at Parliament House, Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers, senior government officials and representatives of relevant ministries, divisions and regulatory authorities.
