ECP allots reserved seats to political parties in Sindh, Punjab

Islamabad
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disclosed the allocation of reserved seats for women and minorities in various political parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) in the Sindh and Punjab assemblies.
In the Sindh Assembly, as outlined in the notification, the PPP has secured 20 reserved seats for women and 6 reserved seats for minorities. Additionally, the notification reveals that 6 members of MQM-Pakistan and one member of GDA have been elected to the seats reserved for women, while two members of MQM-P have been elected to minority seats in the Sindh Assembly.
For the Punjab Assembly, a notification was issued listing 36 reserved seats for women from PML-N, 3 from PPP, 2 from PML-Q, and one woman from IPP for specific seats. It is worth noting that only 42 reserved seats out of the total 66 for the Punjab Assembly were allotted due to the absence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), whose candidates contested the February 8 polls as independents. The remaining seats are yet to be allocated.
