PESHAWAR
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday imposed a Rs 10,000 fine on JUI-F MPA Maulana Lutf ur Rehman and Rs30,000 on PPP-MPA Ahmad Karim Kundi for violating the code of conduct for the local bodies elections.
The election body directed the ministers to deposit the fines in the national treasury within three days.
The ECP also warned both lawmakers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly against violating the election code in future; otherwise, the Commission would suspend their memberships.
Moreover, the ECP also issued a show-cause notice for not abiding by the local government elections rules and regulations.
