ECP Officials visit various polling stations in Peshawar

The special secretary election commission Zafar Iqbal Hussain has said that all arrangements have been completed for local government re-polling in 13 districts of KP, which are scheduled for today (Sunday). He expressed these views during his visit to various polling stations in Peshawar here on Saturday.
Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Raziq was also accompanied him on the occasion.
He inspected the arrangements at the male and female polling stations in Afridi Garhi and Qadirabad and met with the polling staff and police officials.
Election Commissioner, Peshawar Saeed Ahmad Khan and District Election Commissioner, Peshawar Syed Zahoor Shah were also present.
Meanwhile, while talking to media persons, Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Raziq said that unfortunate incidents had taken place at polling stations in some districts in the first phase of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) elections, due to which polling was stopped there.
It is pertinent to mention here that re-polling is being held at Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Mohmand, Mardan, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, DI Khan, Buner and Bajaur on February 13 at 237 polling stations.
Zafar Iqbal Hussain said that polling staff have left for their respective polling stations. Polling will continue from 8 am to 5 pm today without any break. He said that the provincial government and relevant agencies are cooperating fully with the Election Commission in this regard.
