ECP to hold by-polls in NA-45 Kurram on Oct 30


PESHAWAR: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced that by-elections in NA-45 Kurram-1 constituency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be held on October 30. “The Election Commission is pleased to fix 30th October, 2022 as poll date for the conduct of by-election in NA-45 Kurram-1,” said a notification issued by the electoral watchdog. Earlier a week, the ECP postponed the by-polls in the above-mentioned constituency for the NA on the ground that polling could not be held in the areas due some security reason. The ECP completed the process of holding by-elections on the remaining three constituencies for the NA seats from the province on October16. The by-polls in the province on three constituencies including NA-31 Peshawar, NA-22 Mardan and NA-24 Charsadda were held on October 16. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former Prime Minister Imran has swept the by-polls after defeating the candidates of ANP and JUI-F. There are 16 candidates against in NA-45 Kurram including Imran Khan of PTI, Jamil Khan of JUI-F and Sher Muhammad Khan of JI. DLP Report
