LAHORE: Former Senator and PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry has challenged the notification issued by Election Commission regarding his disqualification in Lahore High Court (LHC). It was requested in the petition court should nullify the notification issued by EC in respect of his disqualification. Chairman Senate , Election Commission (EC) and others have been made respondents. Ejaz Chaudhry took the plea he was awarded punishment in one case by Anti Terrorism Court. EC issued notification regarding his disqualification on its own. No member of Senate can be declared disqualified after conviction without hearing his /her stance. The petition said issuing notification without chairman Senate reference is illegal step. Issuing schedule of by polls in respect of Senate seat too is illegal. Online
