PESHAWAR: In view of the current regional security situation and increasing pressure on fuel supply, the KP government has announced temporary but comprehensive energy-saving measures to ensure the efficient and responsible use of electricity. The primary objective of these measures is to maintain uninterrupted power supply and protect the public from the additional financial burden caused by rising electricity costs. It is worth noting that a significant portion of the province’s electricity generation depends on fuel, and due to the global increase in fuel prices, there has been a noticeable rise in electricity costs, KP Govt officials said in a statement here. In this context, the KP government has taken timely and prudent decisions by introducing practical steps that will not only reduce energy wastage but also help balance the increasing load on the power system. These measures particularly focus on limiting unnecessary electricity usage during evening hours, while ensuring the continuity of essential services and economic activities.
